Introduction
In Quick list, you can create a custom list of community members – for example, a group or mixture of teachers, students and parents – and then send your list a message through SMS or email.
When you’ve created a list, you can save it to Zunia to use it again later.
Create a list of community members
First, you need to create a list.
To create a list, select the Quick list
icon. You can access it from wherever you are in Zunia.
When you’ve opened Quick list:
- Select Staff to limit your list to staff, or select Students to limit it to students. To create a mix of people, select All.
- Start to enter the names of people you want to add to your list in the Search and then when names display in the drop-down menu, select the people you want in the list.
Note: if the person’s name does not display in the drop-down menu, their profile does not exist in Zunia.
After you’ve created a list, you can sort, clear or save it.
Sort the list alphabetically:
- Select the sort icon
and from the drop-down select how you want to sort it.
Clear the list and start again:
- Select the three dots icon
and select Clear List. Then select Clear.
Save the list:
- Select the three dots icon
and select Save. Then, give the list a name and select Save.
Now that you’ve created your list, you can send the people in it an SMS or email.
Send list an SMS
- Select the speech-bubble
icon.
Note: If a person in your list does not have a mobile in their profile, the message SMS not available displays.
- Enter your message.
- Personalise your message with Mail merge.
For example, to address everyone by their given name, select Mail merge then from the drop-down list select givenName (this label might be slightly different for your school).
This is how it displays in the text editor:
If your school’s administrator has set up any templates in Zunia, select Templates and choose a template to use.
- When you’ve entered your message, select Select classification to classify what type of message it is.
- Finally, to send the SMS to your list, select Send.
Send list an email
- Select the envelope icon

Note: If a person in your list does not have an email address in their profile, an Email not available message displays.
Then, fill in your email as normal.
- Enter a subject line for your email in Subject.
- To add an attachment, select the paperclip icon
and then select a file from your computer. - Enter your message.
- Personalise your message with Mail merge.
For example, to address everyone by their given name, select Mail merge then from the drop-down list select givenName (this label might be slightly different for your school).
- Format your message using the formatting toolbar.

- When you’ve finished your message, select Select classification to classify what type of message it is.
- Finally, to send the email to your list, select Send.
