Resolve absences

Introduction

Absences are captured in Zunia either by marking the roll or checking a student out of school.

Unresolved absences - absences without an approved absence note and attendance reason - can be reviewed and resolved in Zunia to update the student record and for compliance reporting. 

Notes:

  • Any unresolved absences that have an approved Absence note explaining the absence will be automatically resolved.
  • When resolving absences, if All day is selected, all subsequent absent periods for that student on that date will be automatically resolved.
  • An absence that has been resolved will be flagged as Approved or Not approved (no further review required). 

Reviewing and resolving unexplained absences 

To view and resolve absences from the roll, go to Attendance Resolve absences 

  1. Select a student. 
  2. Review student absence records, grouped by date. 
  3. Select one or more absences and select Review
  4. Select a match (check-in, check-out or parent note for the same date as the absence), or;
  5. Add details and follow up with a parent or guardian. You can find their details by searching for the student in the Quick Access Panel
  6. Once you've selected a match or added details of the absence, select Resolve. 

You've reviewed and resolved absences.
