Introduction
The Zunia app (the app) simplifies parent-teacher communication to help you stay connected, save time and plan ahead.
This guide describes how parents and carers can use the app to stay in touch with their children’s progress in real time. Never miss an update with everything you need to know centralised in one place – available anywhere, anytime.
You can use the app to:
- get the latest school news
- see all upcoming events
- view student timetables and classes
- send and receive instant messages and notifications
- submit an absence or sick note
- access academic reports to track learning progress
- view school fee payments and upcoming bills.
To install the Zunia app, simply download the Android version or iOS version from the app store. Before you login, you’ll need to use the invite link provided by your school (via email or SMS) to sign up and create an account.
News
To get the latest school news relevant to you and your child/ren:
- Select News to see all updates from your school.
- Select the forward arrow
or news item to open it up.
You can read the news item, view attachments or return back to all News.
Events
View past and upcoming events teachers have shared with you, like parent-teacher nights and school excursions.
- Select Events.
- You can choose to look at events Upcoming or Past events.
- Select an event item to see what’s happening, when and where and open any relevant Attachments.
You’re can see upcoming school events to help you plan ahead.
Planner
View your child/ren’s timetables to stay informed of upcoming classes and plan ahead.
- Select Planner.
- You’ll see all upcoming classes within your child’s timetable.
- If you have multiple children at the school, select the student profile icon
(above Today) to switch between timetables.
You can see all upcoming classes, including when and where they’re happening.
Absences
Submit an absence or sick note to help teachers keep track of student attendance.
- Select Absence.
- Select which Student you’d like report an absence for.
- Describe how long the student will be absent by either selecting All day, or a specific Start and End time.
- Provide a reason for the absence.
- Select Submit.
You’ve submitted an absence to allow teachers to update your child’s attendance.
Payments
View your school fee payments and payment plans to stay on top of your finances.
- Select your user profile icon
(top right). - Select View payments.
- Select an account or payee name.
- You’ll see any existing payment plans you’ve set up with your school. This shows total amount due within the payment plan duration, any overdue payments and current payment methods.
- To see a breakdown of the payment instalments for the plan duration, select View schedule.
You can view all upcoming payments within a payment plan. If you want to set up a new payment plan or update an existing one, contact your school directly.
Academic reports
View the latest academic reports to track your children's learning progress.
- Select your profile icon
(top right) to view your account details. - Select Reports to see a list or all academic reports.
- Select a specific report to view it – you can also download a PDF version by selecting the download icon
. - If you have multiple children, you can select downward profile arrow
and a student name to filter the results.
You’ve viewed or downloaded the latest academic reports sent by your school.
Messages and notifications
If you receive a push notification via the app, you may have a new instant message from your child's school.
- To check your inbox, log into the app and select Messages.
- To reply to a message, simply type your message and select the paper plane
to send. Note that, replies will be sent to/seen by all staff and/or parents in the thread.
