Troubleshoot configurations for ACARA Student Background Data (SBD) report

Introduction

Use this guide to troubleshoot Zunia configurations for the Australian Curriculum and Assessment Reporting Authority (ACARA) Student Background Data (SBD) export for non-government schools (excluding Catholic schools).

When the mandatory fields are configured correctly, you'll be able to download and submit.

Configure Zunia for ACARA SBD export

Column	Heading	Requirement	Zunia configuration
A	ACARA Sml ID	Mandatory	This field is defined using Government School Code field on the School Details tab and has a maximum length of 10 characters.
B	School Name	Mandatory	This field is defined using School Name field the School Details tab and has a maximum length of 255 characters.
C	Calendar Year	Mandatory	This field will automatically populate rows with the current year in YYYY format.
D	Local Student ID	Optional	This field is defined when students are added to the Zunia community database and is their Zunia Community Member ID.
E	Grade of Student Enrolment	Mandatory	This value is defined using the Year Level field on the School tab of Student Profile. The values of the Year Level field are defined using the Code field in the YearLevel lookup in School Configuration > School Structure. This field has a value of either: 0 = Year 1 minus 1 (Kinder-Prep) 1 = Year 1 2 = Year 2 3 = Year 3 4 = Year 4 5 = Year 5 6 = Year 6 7 = Year 7 8 = Year 8 9 = Year 9 10 = Year 10 11 = Year 11 12 = Year 12 22 = Year PS (special schools QLD) 33 = Year 1-2 (Pre-Kinder) PU = Primary Ungraded SU - Senior Ungraded 99 = Ungraded Note: You need to map Year Level values to ACARA values using the Australian Curriculum, Assessment Reporting Authority Map Compliance Data setting.
F	Date of Birth	Mandatory	This value is defined using the Personal Information > Date of Birth stored in the Profile tabof Student Profile. This field has a format of DD/MM/YYYY and a maximum length of 10 characters.
G	Gender	Mandatory	This value is defined using the Personal Information > Gender stored on the Profile tab of Student Profile. The values of the Gender field are defined using the Gender lookup. This field has a value of either: 1 for Male 2 for Female 3 for Intersex or Indeterminate 9 for Not stated or Inadequately described Note: Map Gender values to ACARA values using the Australian Curriculum, Assessment Reporting Authority Map Compliance Data setting.
H	Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander status (ATSI Status)	Mandatory	This value is defined using the Indigenous Student and Torres Islander fields on the Profile > Student Flags > Student tab of Student Profile. This field has a value of: 1 when the Indigenous Student field is selected 2 when the Torres Strait Islander field is selected 3 when both fields are selected 4 when neither field is selected 9 when the status is not-stated or unknown Note: Map Indigenous Status values to ACARA values using the Australian Curriculum, Assessment Reporting Authority Map Compliance Data setting.
I	Student Language other than English spoken at home (Students Main SLG)	Mandatory	This value is defined using the Demographic > Home Language stored on the Profile tab of Student Profile. The values of the Home Language field are defined using the Language lookup. Note: Map Main language spoken at home values to ACARA values using the Australian Curriculum, Assessment Reporting Authority Map Compliance Data setting.
J	Parent 1 School Education (Parent Guardian 1 School Education)	Mandatory	This value is defined using the Highest Secondary Level field on the Education tab of the Parent Community Maintenance Record for Parent 1 (Main Student Contact). The values of the Highest Secondary Level field are defined using the Secondary Level lookup. Values for the highest level of secondary school education are: 0 when Not stated or Unknown 1 when Year 9 or equivalent or below 2 when Year 10 or equivalent 3 when Year 11 or equivalent 4 when Year 12 or equivalent Note: Map School Education (level) Parent/Carer values to ACARA values using the Australian Curriculum, Assessment Reporting Authority Map Compliance Data setting.
K	Parent 1 Non-school education (Parent Guardian 1 Highest Non-School Education)	Mandatory	This value is defined using the Highest Qualification Level field on the Education tab of the Parent Community Maintenance Record for Parent 1 (Main Student Contact). The values of the Highest Qualification Level field are defined using the Qualification Level lookup. Values for the qualifications are: 0 when Not stated or Unknown 5 when Certificate I to IV (including trades) 6 when Diploma or Advanced Diploma 7 when Bachelor Degree or higher 8 when No non-school education Note: Map Non-School Education (level) Parent/Carer values to ACARA values using the Australian Curriculum, Assessment Reporting Authority Map Compliance Data setting.
L	Parent 1 Occupation Group (Parent Guardian 1 Occupation Group)	Mandatory	This value is defined using the Position Category field on the Occupation tab of the Parent Community Maintenance Record for Parent 1 (Main Student Contact). The values of the Occupation Position field are defined using the Occupation Position lookup and has a maximum field length of 1 character. Values for parent occupations are: 1 when Senior management 2 when Other business manager 3 when Tradesperson, clerk, sales and service staff 4 when Machine operators, hospitality staff, assistants, labourers and related workers 8 when Not in paid work 9 when Not stated or unknown Note: Map Occupation - Parent/Carer values to ACARA values using the Australian Curriculum, Assessment Reporting Authority Map Compliance Data setting.
M	Parent 1 Language other than English spoken at home (Parent Guardian 1 Main SLG)	Mandatory	This value is defined using the Home Language field on the Profile > Demographic tab of the Parent Community Maintenance Record for Parent 1 (Main Student Contact).
