Overview of student plans to support individual learning needs

Modified on Fri, 27 Feb at 2:35 AM

Introduction

Student plans make it quick and easy for schools to personalise learning to support student's individual learning and wellbeing needs. They capture any diverse or special needs a student has and any adjustments a teacher can make to allow them to participate and learn.

For example, when a Wellbeing/Diversity Coordinator identifies an individual student need, they can create a student plan outlining what adjustments the school and parent has agreed on to support their learning.

Once published, teachers (or any other contributors) can see what adjustments need to be made to adapt lessons to meet the students' needs.. Teachers can capture notes about what adjustments they’ve made and share observations on how they worked with other teachers or school leaders on the plan.

For example, a student might need additional support from a teacher for several reasons, including:

  • learning disabilities or impairments
  • medical conditions
  • behavioural challenges
  • individualised learning styles
  • cultural diversity and inclusion
  • social or economic disadvantage
  • transition planning
  • legal requirements.

A centralised student plan that all relevant teachers/staff can see, apply and track saves time and provides wellbeing and learning insights. It also shows parents how their child’s needs are supported so they're not at risk of disengaging, falling behind or being excluded.

To access student plans, you’re System Administrator will need to assign you the
right user permissions in Zunia.
