Create, update or delete a student plan

Introduction

At times, schools may need to make adjustments for individual students to provide the support required to help them achieve learning outcomes.

A student plan is usually created or updated by a Wellbeing/Diversity Coordinator when an individual student need or diagnosis is identified. For example, a student might need additional support from a teacher because of a learning impairment, like Dyslexia.

The plan owner captures what adjustments need to be made in the classroom to help the student achieve their learning goals. They can also track and review progress via observational notes made by teachers in the classroom. This record can serve as a valuable tool if applying for additional funding in future.

To access student plans, you’re System Administrator will need to assign you the right user permissions in Zunia.


Create a student plan

To create a student plan, go to Student wellbeing > Student plans and adjustments.

  1. Under user settings User settings icon depicting a circular green icon with two letter initials., select Add plan.
  2. Select or search for a student and enter a plan name, then select Add.
  3. You’ll see an empty draft plan, ready for you to fill in. Set the plan Duration – the start date determines when the plan becomes active for teachers to start applying adjustments in the classroom.
  4. Enter an Overview or any details relating to the Challenges identified that can help teachers understand the students’ needs.  
  5. Describe what Adjustments are recommended to help the student achieve their learning Goals identified through diagnosis and/or discussion with a parent/student.
  6. Upload any Supporting evidence or documents relating to the diagnosis or student need identified that can help inform the plan.
  7. Select Save changes to save as a draft.

You’ve created a draft student plan.

Note: any time updates are made to a student plan, it will go back to draft state so that changes can be reviewed and approved as required.


Update a student plan

To update or edit a student plan you must be an Owner with the right user permissions.

Go to Student wellbeing > Student plans and adjustments.

  1. Select a Student name from the list view to view an existing student plan/s.
  2. Select the Plan from the list view to open it.
  3. If the plan is published, you’ll need to select the three dots Three grey dot icon and Unpublish before any changes can be made in draft state.
  4. Once plan is open and in draft state, you can edit and select Save changes.

You’ve updated a student plan.


Delete a student plan

To update or edit a student plan you must be an Owner with the right user permissions.

Go to Student wellbeing > Student plans and adjustments.

  1. Select a Student name from the list view to view an existing student plan/s.
  2. Select the Plan from the list view to open it.
  3. Select the three dots Three grey dot icon and Delete.
  4. Confirm deleting the student plan by selecting Delete.

You’ve deleted a student plan.
