Keep track of student movements throughout any given day. Check-ins and check-outs helps you maintain your duty of care whether a student has left class to go to the sickbay or needs to go offsite for an appointment.
You can review any student’s movements over time or see which students are on site but not in class in case of an emergency.
Check a student or students in or out of school
To check a student in or out of school, go to Attendance > Check-ins and check-outs.
- Select Add check-in or out
- Search and select the student or students to check-in or check-out
- Select In or Out and adjust the date and time if required
- For check-in, select either Front office or Sickbay within the school grounds and add any additional details regarding the nature of the check-in
- For check-out, select the Reason*, add any additional details and select the student contact or contacts who picked them up from school.
To view which students are checked-in or out of school, go to Attendance > Check-ins and check-outs.
Any check-ins or check-outs will be listed there.
*The Reason applied to a check-in or check-out can be used to explain an absence when Resolving absences.
NOTE: Setting up Attendance reasons, for use with front office check-ins as Absent and not Present is important as the attendance reason explains the period of absence when a student is late.
