Marks book makes grading student assessments and subject results, easy, by centralising learning curriculum and reporting data in one place. Here, teachers can seamlessly track student progress against learning outcomes.

In this video, we'll show you how to get started with setting up and using our marks book.

First, you'll add the subjects to be taught. For example, year 10 Science or Year 5 or 6 Science.

If your school uses a common national curriculum, we may already have the right syllabus as available for you to choose from. This allows learning areas and outcomes to be prepopulated in the marks book ready for grading.

Once you've added the subject, you can now create the assessment groups and define the weightings. Assessment groups are a useful way to organise assessment data so teachers can control the way information is presented in a marks book.

Assessment results are passed through group weighting to automatically calculate students total scores.

Then you can add assessments to a group so that students can be graded against specific learning outcomes. They will appear in the marks book once you create them.

If the subject area or assessment you're teaching is defined by your school's own standards, you can add custom learning outcomes as assessable criteria.

Once you've created learning areas, outcomes and assessments for a subject, you're ready to record grades in the marks book.

As grades are added, we’ll auto save work in progress to prevent data loss. Total scores will automatically be calculated to measure a student’s progress for you.

The Total score and Rank columns are instantly calculated and saved.

You can also add a comment to a grade to clarify your thinking if needed.

Now that you understand the basics, you're ready to get started.
