Introduction

Before your school can get started using Zunia, the system administrator prepares your school’s data using a data migration template.

This guide describes the process for uploading the data to Zunia.

Check your data

When you’ve completed the data migration template using the instructions and checked it carefully, you’re ready to upload it. Here’s how.

  1. Raise a data migration ticket in Zunia Support.
  2. Upload the completed template into NextCloud. This is a secure location for your data. We never ask for you to send the data directly to us for security reasons.
  3. Update the support ticket with a link to the data migration template.
  4. Read the Zunia template validation report we send you if there are problems with your data (there may not be any). This report identifies any problems with things like mandatory fields, data types and formats.
  5. Make any changes needed to the template, save it as SchoolName-data-V2 and upload it again to NextCloud.
  6. Update the ticket with a link to the data migration template.

When the data is approved, you get a message from Zunia Support asking you to:

  • log in to the Zunia staging site as the system administrator
  • make a time to meet with the Zunia Onboarding team. They work with you to complete the final steps.

Upload the final data

  1. Log in to the Zunia staging site.
  2. Check that the data is correct. If there are problems, make changes and upload it again to NextCloud and update the support ticket.

Create API key

Next, you need to create an API key for Zunia to access your data. To create an API key, go to System configuration>API keys.

  1. Select Generate key.
  2. Select API type Standard.
  3. Enter a name for the API, for example ‘Data-migration-1-2021’.
  4. Select Advanced.
  5. Select Generate key.
  6. Now, select the name of the API key you created. Details of the key display.
  7. Select Groups to view the list of groups you can give permission to access the key.
  8. In Available groups, select System administrator, then select > to move this group to Assigned groups.
  9. Select Save.

Share the API key

Copy the Client ID and Secret into the support ticket and approve the data upload.

When the upload is complete and you’re ready to use Zunia, you get a message from Zunia support.
