Set up element types

Modified on Wed, 18 Feb at 5:37 AM

Introduction

An element type groups each general ledger activity into categories to meet your school’s specific needs. For example, categories can include budgets, transactions, balances, etc.

When the Zunia onboarding team creates a financial entity for your school, it creates default element types:

  • Account
  • Cost centre
  • Sub-allocation

Note: The default element number for the 'Account' element type is '0'. For ‘Cost centre’ and ‘Sub-allocation’ it is set to ‘1’ and ‘2’ by default.

This guide shows you how to set up the element types.

Set up an element type

To set up an element type, go to your finance entity and select Finance settings > General ledger settings, then select Element types

The Element types window displays.

  1. In Element types, select Add.
The Add element type pop-up appears.
