Export general ledger transaction data to a CSV file

Introduction

You can export general ledger transaction data to a CSV file for use with 3rd party financial software. 

 

To export data to a CSV file, you need to set up the file format first. Next, you map the columns and rows with the data you want to export.  

 

Set up the file format 

To set up the file format, select a finance entity, then go to Finance settings General ledger settings > General ledger export

 

  1. Select the delimiter that marks the start or end of text strings in your data, for example, commas.  

  1. Select the checkbox to include field heading labels in your CSV file.  

  1. In File name, enter a file name to easily identify the data when downloaded. 

The file name format you set up displays in File name preview.
 

Set up column format 

Next, format the columns for your CSV file. 

  1. In Column format, select each column name you want to display using the checkbox.

    You can also use the   icon to select all column names.

  2. To re-order the columns, use the Drag and drop   icon.  

  3. To view the column format with sample data, select Preview, then select OK. To download the preview, select Download preview

You can make any changes to the column format. 

  1. Select Save.   

Now you’ve set up the column format for the CSV file, next you’ll map the columns and rows. 


Map columns and rows

To map the columns and rows, select a finance entity and go to General ledger > General ledger transaction export

  1. Select the batches to export as a CSV file using the checkboxes.  

    You can also use the   icon to select all batches.

  1. Next, select Export to CSV from the dropdown, then select Apply.

    You’re notified when your export is ready.

  1. To download CSV file, use the   icon.  

You’re notified when your file is downloaded.
