Create a medical incident that wasn’t recorded when it happened

Introduction

There are two ways to create a medical incident. The one you should choose depends on the situation.

Incidents during sickbay hours

This way lets you fill in a quick summary and then sign out each incident when you’re ready. It’s best suited for sickbay hours when you may have more than one student being treated at a time.

Incidents that weren’t recorded right after they happened

This way lets you complete an incident in one go. Use it when the incident wasn’t recorded in the system when it happened. For example, if there was an incident on a camping trip.

Create a medical incident in full

To create an incident in full, go to Health and medical > Medical information

  1. Enter the student’s name or ID and select Search

  2. More than one student record might display, so select the student you want to create a medical incident for from the list.

  3. Select Incident history.

  4. Select Create incident

  5. Fill in the Quick incident summary, including the Start date and time, Sign out date and time, Location and Type of incident (for example, asthma, abdominal pain, hay fever).
If you’re not sure what time the incident happened, select any time. You can change the time later if needed.

  6. Select Save

This creates a complete medical incident.
